Campaign Pitch
BACKGROUND
The Olympics always offer brands big opportunities to surprise and delight. X was looking for innovative campaign ideas they could pitch to Airbnb, an official Olympic sponsor, that would forge innovative partnerships (and generate big time headlines). The brief was open-ended – my favorite kind – but specified that any concept needed to showcase a deep understanding of the brand’s marketing strategy and KPIs.
SOLVE
My research focused on finding real pain points in consumers’ lives – this allowed X to offer genuine value to the brand and its target audience, not just cool ideas. The insight that shaped the campaign strategy was simple: guests badly wanted to book Paris Airbnbs. Hosts badly wanted to rent their homes at top dollar. But no one wanted to make the first move. X could offer both a solution.
